iHeart Yoga - Harbor Views & Vinyasa Flows
Looking for a yoga studio that fosters a sense of community while offering a wide range of classes in a welcoming serene studio setting? Or an outdoor flow set in nature? If so, iHeart Yoga is your place. Founded by Elsa Stuart in 2008, iHeart has grown not only to include a variety of yoga classes; but teacher trainings, Mexico retreats and awesome special events all year-long.
Elsa’s outdoor ‘Yoga in the Park’ classes, which started as a hobby, eventually grew into a brick-and-mortar studio, and now it’s consistently voted the #1 yoga studio in Dana Point.
iHeart’s main studio is located at the Dana Point Harbor. The space is warm and inviting, with big windows looking out to the harbor. In addition, they have a great little shop when checking in; full of fun clothing items and accessories if you want to indulge before or after class. Their amazing and dedicated teaches are, in my opinion, what really set this yoga studio apart. Supportive, engaging, fun, warm and experienced, they guide you through your practice in a way that ensures you’re safe, supported and challenged appropriately. They truly foster a caring and inclusive atmosphere and are what make iHeart so special and an ideal place for beginners and experienced yogis alike. iHeart offers a range of diverse classes suitable for practitioners of all levels. From yin and restorative, to gentle or strenuous vinyasa flows and their always packed Cardio sculpt classes, there is something for everyone depending on your preference. You can find their schedule here.
One of the coolest things about iHeart is their daily Yoga in the Park classes which are not to be missed. Held in Lantern Bay Park, under the warm sun with the beautiful Pacific Ocean below, you’ll wonder how you got so lucky to stretch and flow in such a gorgeous setting.
The park classes are also super reasonably priced, at just $10, making it easy to stop in at any time throughout the week during their daily 8:30 or 10am classes and 5:30 sunset classes Monday – Thursday. For those who prefer to get out on the water WHILE doing yoga, their SUP Yoga Classes, held at the harbor, are also an unforgettable way to practice your flow while enjoying the sparkling blue below you.
iHeart frequently hosts workshops and special events throughout the year that allow students to deepen their practice and knowledge of yoga, or just themselves. These events cover mindfulness, stress reduction, holistic well-being, sound baths, Bend & Brews, yacht yoga and more. Interested in becoming a teacher yourself? Check out their 200 and 300/500 Teacher training programs here. If you’re in the mood to travel south of the border, their Mexico retreats – an all-inclusive 3-night, 2-day getaway to the Las Rocas Resort & Spa in Rosarito, Mexico are a fun way to adventure while getting in some flows. I have not done this yet, but it’s definitely on my list. The pictures and videos are always amazing – outdoor yoga, gorgeous views, great food surrounded by old and new friends, these retreats do sell out so be sure to book in time!
For me, iHeart is more than just a yoga studio; it’s a place to escape the demands of busy life through movement while finding inner peace among a community of like-minded individuals. Check out their website for all the details on their expansive offerings to help you integrate mind, body and soul and I’ll see you on the mat!
